Five years at Marine Federal
What’s your story? What has lead you to this point in your life?
I moved away from home as soon as I turned 18 to go to college for accounting and it didn’t work out. I started working at a financial institution and fell in love with the industry. Ever since I graduated high school I always said that I wanted to become a CPA. After marrying my husband and moving across and out of the country I finally decided to go back to school. Eight years later I received an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree in addition to my CPA license. As much as I wanted to give up during the process, I always motivated myself to fulfill my childhood dream.
What was your childhood dream job?
What’s a fictional character you would be?
What makes you laugh the most?
My children and amazing friends
If you could share a meal with four people (living or dead) who would they be?
Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Maya Angelou, and my Grandmother
What type of music do you listen to?
Anything but heavy metal
Is there a surprising fact or skill or talent that you have that not many people would know?
My job may give this away, but I am really good at memorizing numbers. It’s almost a curse!
How do you make banking easy for members?
Part of my daily job is to make sure the credit union is doing everything it needs to do to be financially healthy, which indirectly gives back to our members.
What do you love about working at Marine Federal?
I love that Marine Federal is family-oriented. No matter what department you work in, everyone is willing to help.
What do you do when you’re not at work?
I love to play softball, and have been playing for my entire life. I enjoy going to the beach and spending time with my family.
If you could work anywhere in the credit union for a day where would it be?
I would love to work in the branch again and assist members. It’s been a very long time!
Tell us about a time you’ve made an impact
The most rewarding thing to me is to be able to volunteer. I have volunteered for various different organizations throughout the community such as our charity golf tournament, Operation Homefront, and benefits for the American Cancer Society.
